Gesundheitskommunikation | Health Communication
Description
Issues in health care and health prevention are always associated with communication challenges. Health issues are present, and health information is sought and used extensively in professional contexts as well as in everyday communication settings. This represents a fruitful challenge for communication science scholars, as the characteristics of information on health and disease as well as the specifics of interpersonal as well as mass media exchanges need to be theoretically grounded and empirically observed, also in order to identify areas for interdisciplinary connections.
Based on contributions to the first annual meeting of the ad-hoc group Health Communication of the German Society for Journalism and Communication Science (DGPuK) in November 2013 in Hannover, the width and developmental potential of the research field Health Communication are reflected in this volume.

Eva Baumann, Heinz Bonfadelli, Björn Brodner, Janina Curbach, Karin Elbrecht, Andreas Enzminger, Florian Fischer, Tobias Frey, Thomas Friemel, Hannah Früh, Christiane Grill, Jürgen Grimm, Michael Grimm, Mirjam Groß, Lutz Hagen, Matthias R.
