Gott, Mensch, Gottmensch – männlich, weiblich oder ganz anders?

Why have there been sexes ever since the first multicellular organisms appeared? Why are there only two in ‘higher’ organisms? The author demonstrates that complementary polarity helps shape the entire universe, from the atom to humankind. He therefore also enquires into its ultimate origin – the deity – and examines how this relates to the issue of polarity, both historically and ontologically. Since the Absolute, albeit only in the Western world, was incarnated in a unique way in a human being—indeed, in a man—the author, building on Anselm’s famous question (‘Cur deus homo?’), seeks to find rationally discernible reasons for this as well, thereby addressing many questions and issues related to gender (identity, diversity, the roles of the feminine and the masculine in nature and religion, the kairos of the Incarnation, the ordination of women, etc.), which he seeks to clarify against the backdrop of both his ‘phenomenology’ and his ‘metaphysics’.
