Hermeneutik und Rezeptionsästhetik

In the 1960s, the Konstanzer Schule initiated a paradigm shift by conceptualizing an understanding of art and literature as a ‘Triad’ – the relationship between producer, work, and recipient. An examination of the hermeneutic roots of reception theory and a critical analysis of its history show the necessity of expanding the triad and adding a dimension in which not only the artefacts themselves but also its historical transformation becomes visible and is captured in a history of the ‘Tetractys’. Written interpretations are presented here as part of this historical dynamic. By including the interpreters as a historically and socially conditioned fourth element, controversial positions can be compared and analysed more precisely.
