In this fundamental work, Katrin Lindemann introduces figurative cotton print fabrics which have hardly been researched in the German-speaking world so far. On the basis of a comprehensive catalogue, she investigates the fabrics preserved in German collections focusing on their production, their use and their collection and presentation as museum pieces. Furthermore, she gives suggestions on how this type of fabric can be presented in museums. For the first time, a complete room layout is reconstructed. This book serves as a sound reference book for the interested reader.
