Hochschulgebundene Journalismusausbildung, Professionalisierungsbestrebungen des Journalismus und Medienpraxis in postkommunistischen Transformationsländern

Drawing on qualitative interviews, the study examines how university-based journalism education in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Albania contributed to the professionalisation of journalism in the mid-2010s – and where media practice intersects with political entanglements, oligarchic power, and market logic. The findings offer guidance for other contexts in which journalistic practice is negotiated between political pressure, economic constraints, and professional standards. The author is a research assistant at the Institute of Journalism at TU Dortmund University; previously, she worked as a journalist and lecturer in Germany and abroad.
