Description
Luzius Wildhaber, who celebrated his 70th birthday on January 18th, 2007, has then resigned as president of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. The editors have taken this as an opportunity to appreciate his broad and various work as scientist and judge in the fields of constitutional and international law with a Festschrift. The Liber amicorum unites 90 contributions in German, English and French, written by friends and scholars as well as colleagues, who have been personally affiliated with Luzius Wildhaber, especially during his time as professor and as member of different courts, particularly during his occupation at the European Court of Human Rights.

The Festschrift contains an impressive variety of topics, written by an international authorship and covering theoretical treatises and essays about legal practice. The contributions of well-known personalities from science and jurisdiction present a kaleidoscope of current and essential questions concerning human rights, democracy, constitutional and international law.
