This anthology dealing with the subject of "International Humanitarian Law" is the first publication in the "Peace through law" edition within the frame of the "Democracy, Security, Peace" series of publications. It presents a multitude of instructive essays written by experts in law and specialists in social studies who treat the most current and relevant topics in International Humanitarian Law. It covers topics ranging from the principles and characteristics of International Humanitarian Law to its implementation in areas of crisis and conflict and its legal enforcement at the International Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia.
