After transitional regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic, the possibility of virtual general meetings of stock corporations has now been permanently codified in law. Due to the rapid legislative process, uncertainties and questions remain for academics and practitioners, particularly with regard to shareholders' right to information in accordance with Section 131 AktG. The new form of general meeting must be harmonized with the existing system, which requires some modifications, and practical ways of dealing with the digital format and the new option of submitting questions in advance must be found.
