Interessenkonflikte von Bundestagsabgeordneten

This research examines how law can effectively address conflicts of interest among parliamentarians in order to counteract the current crisis of trust in representative democracy. To this end, a conflict matrix is developed using legal-economic methods, which systematizes the complex conflicts inherent in the political process. From a law and economics perspective, structural parallels emerge between the conflicts faced by members of parliament and supervisory board members in private-law corporations. Based on cross-jurisdictional principles of corporate organization, the study develops reform initiatives for parliamentary law and analyzes their constitutional possibilities and limitations.
