Islamisches Familienrecht

Islamic family law plays a key role in Muslim societies. Although it is derived from the Quran and the traditions of the Prophet, it must, like any legal system, address everyday issues in changing societies. The book discusses, in three parts and based on a wide range of sources, the traditional foundations of family law across the various schools of thought, as well as the extensive reforms in many countries since the 20th century. The third part elaborates on the handling of Islamic family law provisions within the German legal context.
