Description
Volume XVI of the Yearbook of Agricultural Law examines the legal framework governing livestock farming, which lies at the intersection of farmers' economic activities and animal welfare. The current situation is ex-amined from a German perspective in the article 'Animal Welfare Law and German Livestock Farming', while the article 'Legal Possibilities and Limitations of the Use and Introduction of Virtual Fencing Systems in Agricul-tural Practice against the Background of Production and Socio-Technical Innovations in Grassland Use' ex-plores the possibilities and limitations of innovative husbandry systems. From an Austrian perspective, the article 'Animal welfare in the tension between agricultural livestock farming' addresses this issue, while the Swiss legal situation is examined in the article 'Animal welfare and livestock farming in Swiss law'. This volume also provides a comprehensive overview of monographs on German and foreign agricultural law, which were added to the Institute’s library in 2024 and 2025, as well as an overview of articles published in journals on key topics.
