Political extremism in Germany is the focus of the yearbook. It documents and analyses the political developments of the past year and reviews newly published literature. The articles often go beyond the narrower subject area and open up a broad spectrum of different perspectives. Despite its scientific foundation, the yearbook also offers practical information and inspiration for politics, administration, security forces and education. It is intended as a discussion forum, reference work and guide. This issue focusses on the history of militant democracy, the state of liberal democracies, freedom of expression and dealing with right-wing populism.
