The crisis of the global financial system has caused many debates even in the cultural studies and humanities. The motivations of the actors and also codes and narratives of the financial system itself must be uncovered. „Risk“, „trust“ and „guilt“ are key concepts; and not by accident W. Benjamin’s argument of „capitalism as religion“ is revitalized. The authors oft he volume participate in this debate. Their particularity is the variety of the scientific disciplines they represent: (financial) economics, cultural studies, media sciences, political economics, theology, and law.
