„Kinderverschickung“ nach 1945

This edited volume examines the historical mass phenomenon of children’s convalescent care (“Kinderverschickung”), which has so far received little scholarly attention, and contributes to its empirical investigation and methodological development. Using the example of Schleswig-Holstein and St. Peter-Ording, it combines and reflects on diverse sources – archival materials, forum posts, and interviews – as well as qualitative and quantitative approaches. A key focus lies on innovative teaching-research projects that integrate research, teaching, and knowledge transfer. The volume addresses both academic audiences and the interested public. The editors have been conducting interdisciplinary research and teaching on this topic since 2021.
