Kirche neu denken – Kirche erproben

In the face of dwindling membership, declining financial resources and an increasingly secular environment, an ecclesiastical concept of ‘business as usual’ is no longer proving to be forward-looking. In many regional churches and dioceses there are therefore so-called trial rooms and experimental fields for churches of the future. These new departures and experimental fields are becoming increasingly necessary in order to proactively advance a dynamically acting Church in diverse social spaces and living environments and to be present and relevant as a Church in a changed form in the future. This volume reflects on current programmes of regional churches and dioceses from interdisciplinary and international perspectives and discusses the fundamental questions associated with them.
