Young Academics: Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft
Description
Climate change is one of the greatest threats of our time. As climate change progresses, we are seeing an increase in disinformation that questions the existence or urgency of the problem. From a psychological perspective, fear of the consequences can lead to a new form of anxiety disorder, also known as eco-anxiety.
From a communication science perspective, Annika Lange examines the influence of eco-anxiety on information behaviour and the spread of disinformation, as well as the resulting social consequences. Her findings provide recommendations for social actors on how to counteract disinformation through education.
