Kollektive Rechtsschutzinstrumente im deutschen und europäischen Zivilverfahrensrecht

Mass damage events such as the emissions scandal are overburdening the judiciary and hindering effective law enforcement. Instruments of collective redress, in particular the newly introduced collective redress action under the VDuG, are intended to effectively deal with mass damage events both domestically and cross-border. This thesis therefore analyses the essence of collective re-dress in order to then analyse the effectiveness of collective redress and its potential for improve-ment, taking into account the experiences of other jurisdictions. Finally, the cross-border redress action is analysed and solutions for the pressing problems of European civil procedure law are proposed.
