Kommunikation zwischen Arbeitnehmer und Arbeitgeber

Is an employee obliged to inform his employer and how, when, and about what? Such questions are of equal interest to both employees and employers. The employee might be obliged to provide information requested by the employer before, during and after the employment. However, the legal basis and the content of these obligations are controversial, unless they have been already decided upon by the high court. The thesis at hand addresses this ongoing dispute, taking into account recent developments in Germany’s General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) as well as in § 32 BDSG (Federal Data Protection Act), covering all phases from the initiation up until the cessation of the employment. Both, theoretical foundations as well as practical examples of the obligation to provide the information have been equally addressed.
