Komparatistik
Description
Comparative literature takes a cross-border perspective on literature, whereby both language borders and borders between media are meant. Since the 19th century, a dynamic discipline with a cosmopolitan perspective has emerged from this positioning. Based on the eventful history of comparative literature, this book offers an insight into current research fields: from the idea of world literature to network theories and from research on intermediality and fiction to translation theories. A look at connections to other humanities reveals interdiscursive approaches and the wide range of research possibilities in comparative literature. This book is aimed at students of literature, cultural studies, translation studies and media and communication studies.
