Konsolidierung und Entwicklungsperspektiven des Europäischen Umweltrechts

Environmental protection is a fundamental constitutional aim of the European Union and therefore an important ongoing task. This conference volume underlines this importance documenting the results of a conference on environmental law organized by fireu (Frankfurter Institut für das Recht der Europäischen Union). It contains 16 papers dealing with several aspects of European environmental law by Marc Bungenberg, Felix Ekardt, Walter Frenz, Christiane Herzog, Sebastian Heselhaus, André M. Latour, Thomas Lübbig, José Martinez, Carsten Nowak, Matthias Pechstein, Gerard C. Rowe, Kirsten Schmalenbach, Sabine Schlacke, Rainer Schröder, Foroud Shirvani, Jörg P. Terhechte, Carmen Thiele and Luca Thieme. The contributions focus on the role of environmental protection in different fields of European Law (fundamental freedoms; competition law; town and country planning; agricultural policy, transport policy, commercial policy, European neighbourhood policy; development cooperation). They further address legal questions and demarcation problems relating to European environmental, climate and energy policy and point out relevant dimensions of European fundamental rights and administrative cooperation regarding European environmental protection.
