Description
The Law to Combat Corruption in Healthcare came into force on 4th June 2016. This work discusses its foundations in criminal law with their interdisciplinary relationships to social legislation, competition law and anti-trust laws. Furthermore, it presents the practice of enforcement and prosecution, media relations and the procedures for internal investigations.
This work seeks to combine a scholarly approach with practical relevance and addresses current issues, e.g. the legitimacy and limits of rebates, criminal liability risks in cooperative work between industry and health care professionals (sponsoring of continued medical education), marketing campaigns and entrepreneurial activities by physicians.
The target audience consists of those to whom §§ 299a, 299b of the StGB (the German penal code) usually relate, criminal justice agencies, those working in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, and members of the health professions and their professional organisations.
