Criminal law also seems to contribute to the fight against child poverty by § 170.1 StGB. The thesis critically examines the criminalization of parents not fulfilling their legal obligation to pay child support. Within the framework of a file evaluation at the public prosecutor's office in Freiburg i. Br., findings on the current application are incorporated into a proportionality analysis based on legal interests. In this way, the need for reform of § 170.1 StGB in the current welfare state becomes apparent.
