Kriminalitätsbelastung und Viktimisierungen im Zeitlauf

Research into unreported crimes in Germany is still largely neglected in the field of criminology even though such research has been constantly demanded since the 1970s. This publication is the first to present the findings of two investigations conducted in Germany over a specific period of time. These findings reveal, for example, that only a fraction of the details on the property-related crimes in question were reported to the law enforcement agencies. In this respect, the investigations presented here strengthen the demands being placed on politicians to finally establish and encourage more research into unreported crimes in Germany in the form of regular investigations, as is done in similar countries.
