Kulturelle Integration und Grundgesetz

Integration has dominated public debate since long before the so-called refugee crisis. It is imperative to determine how the integration of an increasingly culturally pluralising society can be structured and what role the law can play in this process. Proposals within the jurisprudential discourse regarding state law range from a "German cultural identity" to the adoption of “integration” as an unwritten state objective, which conceals very different concepts. In this respect, German basic law often remains vague. In this situation, Matthias Wagner provides a proposal on how an integration concept and mission can be obtained from an overall interpretation of relevant legal norms of basic law. The theories put forward will and should provoke opposition since the work is explicitly intended as a contribution to the necessary discussion.
