Kultur – Kunst – Therapie. Ideengeschichte und Praxis
Description
Imagination—the act of visualizing—is an ancient method for transforming consciousness that opens the door to unconscious content. Evidence of daydreaming can be found as far back as cave paintings. These remain vital even today. Art therapy and imaginative techniques share common ground. This is especially true of the creative process involved in these methods and of painting or viewing images in therapy. Both approaches overlap at the point where psychological conflicts are expressed through artistic means. This anthology explores fundamental theoretical approaches and different perspectives on working with daydreams, as well as the specific approach offered by art therapy.
