Leistungsfähigkeit und Leistungspotenzial des Adoptionsrechts

The declining number of adoptions contrasts with a growing number of children who grow up permanently outside their families of origin. The causes of this statistical imbalance are manifold, but, as the author points out, they lie largely in the legal framework for adoption, which does not reflect the realities of life and adoption in Germany in a contemporary way. Against this background, the thesis develops reform proposals for the legal facts and consequences of adoption, taking into account comparative law and interdisciplinary aspects. It considers both the constitutional dimension of adoption and current impulses from academia, politics, and practice.
