Making world(s)

Attending to practices of dwelling, rituality, mutual rearing, relatedness, circulation, and political friction, the contributions gathered in this volume resonate with Lévi-Strauss’s suggestion that Amerindian worlds are constituted through the experimentation with and the incorporation of alterity in a non-totalizing manner, without reducing others to their own ontological terms. Bringing together ethnographically grounded studies on Amerindian ways of making world(s), which range from Aymara communities in Bolivia to the northwestern Andean Argentina, the Peruvian Amazonia and the Paraguayan Chaco, the volume highlights both the diversity of Amerindian world-making processes and the relations and frictions that connect them.
