Description
The minimum feed-in-tariff has been used previously to promote the renewable energies in the electricity sector. It puts the renewable energies into a “special role” distant from the electricity market. In this respect it absolves the renewable energies from the regular market participation. This publication analyses extensively, if respectively to what extent the legislator succeeds in integrating the renewable energies into the electricity market by using the direct marketing within the framework of the EEG 2012 (German Renewable Energy Act 2012) and also the EEG 2014 (German Renewable Energy Act 2014). Thereby not only the legal structure and the instrumental design as well as the actual effective implementation and application of the direct marketing are analysed and related legal issues are discussed. Rather initially a catalogue of requirements is developed to assess and improve the effective impact of a support scheme on the market integration of renewable energies. Therefore this publication is not only of interest for scientists, but also for policy makers and the legislator.
