Description
The extraordinary title of the academic study written by the notary public Sebastian Mai in Friedrichshafen suggests that the subject of investigation will not only be approached from a normative perspective but will also combine interdisciplinary discourses in the fields of regional history, formation history and history of law with actor-centered perceptions. In the course of the recent history in Germany the exceptional notarial system in Württemberg turns out to be a remarkably resilient stakeholder which is able to survive the national socialist despotism. Concerning the postwar period the focus of this study deals with the Kressbronn District Notary’s Office so that microhistory goes hand in hand with macrohistory.
