Menschliche Aufsicht über KI-Systeme

This work clarifies the level of human oversight required for high-risk AI systems under Article 14 of the EU AI Act. The provision is examined against the backdrop of significant doubts regarding its practical feasibility and is compared with earlier regulatory approaches, in particular Article 22 of the GDPR. The suitability and potential of the planned oversight measures to minimize relevant risks in the individual case prove to be key to interpretation. From this, the thesis derives the effectiveness of oversight as a decisive criterion for the legally certain interpretation of Article 14 of the AI Act and places it in relation to the other requirements for high-risk AI systems.
