Description
This book deals with the diverse relationships between migration, education and the media. It links theories on the explanation of international migration with theories on integration, acculturation and assimilation of migrants, as well as theories on transnational migration and different research and didactic approaches to applying them in migration and diversity education. In addition, the book focuses on the role of the media in migration processes as well as on the interaction between the media and migration. In this regard, it addresses the question of how migration, migrants and diversity are represented in the media. In doing so, it combines empirical and theoretical approaches to migration and the media with approaches from media education and migration and diversity education and suggests various areas in which they can be applied in practice.
