Minderheiten zwischen Anerkennung, Verweigerung und Indifferenz

Over the past three decades, extensive research has been conducted on the topic of ‘direct democracy and minorities’. The main focus has been on the question of the extent to which direct democracy represents an opportunity or a threat for minorities. This research is expanded here to include a new question and a historical perspective. The focus is no longer on the relationship between the majority and the minority, but on the recognition of minority concerns by other minorities. Among other things, the study examines how the willingness to recognise minorities has changed in the Swiss Alpine canton of Graubünden over the last 150 years and what influence political, economic, and social crises have had on this.
