Description
Wenn SieThis volume brings together contributions on the multifaceted relationship between ‘music’ and ‘labour’. On the one hand, music is considered as labour, whereby phenomena of musical occupations since the Middle Ages are examined as well as current topics, such as the situation of the creative industries in the context of pandemic crises. On the other hand, the case studies are dedicated to ‘work’ as an object or theme in music, for example the musical imitation of work processes and sounds or the musical-theatrical representation of the world of work. The volume is intended as a stimulus for a musicological examination of the topic, but also for a sociological connection to music-related research.
