Music publishing represents one of the pillars of the music industry, playing a key role in the overall value chain in determining whether and how music develops as an economic asset in an increasingly complex environment. The harmonization of music industry exploitation practices with copyright and related rights law is nothing less than the foundation for ensuring that the exploitation of music remains a viable business model in the future.

It is therefore necessary to compile knowledge about the music publishing industry and present experiences with digital transformation in such a way that the future can be best anticipated and adaptations implemented.
