This book adds a fourth and, until now, unidentified dimension to the sustainability triad. In both an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary manner, the author examines the non-linear dynamic and complex dimension of sustainable development. To this end, she compares Germany and Switzerland in terms of a plethora of diverse aspects using her own research model, which she specially designed for this purpose. In doing so, she demonstrates that the chaos theory paradigm can be applied to the evolution of not only a country’s own system but also to a worldwide context.
