PHYSIS
Description
Starting from the redefinition of the nature-culture relationship necessitated by the ecological crisis, this study presents the first reconstruction of the organic worldview of Friedrich Adolf Trendelenburg (1802–1872), a protagonist of late German idealism.
This historical-systematic investigation situates Trendelenburg between Kantian skepticism and Hegelian apriorism, revealing his independent Aristotelian path. Alongside the reconstruction of his system, a proposal for its actualization in the Anthropocene is presented. The study argues for an expansion of the concept of Sittlichkeit that overcomes the destructive nature-culture dualism by encompassing the entire culturally shaped planet.
