Description
The book evaluates the German Network Enforcement Act which was enacted in 2017. The Evaluation was commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection. The Act is paradigmatic for a shift in social media regulation and has influenced many discussions and laws at the international and European level. Based on questionnaires, literature and court judgements, the evaluation demonstrates that the Act has contributed significantly to the combat against hate speech but should also be further developed. Various improvements are suggested.
