Neue Ausgrabungen und Forschungen in Niedersachsen

This volume contains scientific theses related to material preservation from the Institutes for Prehistory and Early History in Göttingen and Cologne. The theses are closely related to the preservation of archaeological monuments in Lower Saxony. They cover a chronological period ranging from the Neolithic to the Early Iron Age and a geographical area stretching from the Osnabrück region via the Weser and Leine rivers to the district of Helmstedt. Noteworthy is the close cooperation between monument preservation authorities, collectors, and scientific institutions. Additionally, a pilot study illustrates the scientific potential of human skeletal remains from the Weser River through the integration of anthropological research and 14C data.
