The volume sheds light on the re-establishment of the Catholic community in Potsdam after the Reformation. From 1722/23 onwards, King Frederick William I promoted pastoral care for Catholic workers and soldiers. He had a church built on the grounds of the Potsdam rifle factory, which he furnished with liturgical equipment, textiles, paintings, and an organ. Later, private donors further enriched the church. King Frederick II finally granted the church parish rights.
