Description
How can the international discourse on criminal law be successfully conducted, even though seemingly uniform terms conceal differing dogmatic concepts shaped by national contexts? This conference proceedings volume examines the extent to which norm theory, as a common analytical language, can facilitate an informed discourse across legal systems. To this end, criminal law scholars from eight countries examine the potential of norm theory as a tool for comparative criminal law, structural analysis and dogmatic understanding. This illustrates how national concepts can be precisely analysed and discussed despite historical, cultural and institutional differences.
