In seven chapters, this paper contains the most comprehensive evaluation to date of the ECJ decision "CCOO" (C 55/18) on the recording of working time, which has been described as "big bang". In particular, the author defines the term "objective, reliable and accessible time recording system" and examines the possibilities for implementation, evaluating all essays, opinions and decisions published after the decision up to November 2022. Finally, the author answers the question of whether and to what extent the ECJ decision implies an obligation to implement it in Germany, whether this requires a new law, and how this law could be formulated.
