Onkologische Gesundheitsversorgung in einer Pandemie

The book explores the normative conditions of health treatments provided to oncology patients during the Covid pandemic. A range of ethical, legal and economical challenges – such as triage and allocation, restriction of individuals‘ liberty, and the requirements surrounding the protection of employees – can yield knowledge that allows us to learn from this experience. The Covid pandemic presented a unique challenge to the German health system. Medical professionals had to prioritise and allocate scarce resources, especially in the context of oncology. This impacted clinical decision-making and care, and gave rise to ethical, legal and economical consequences.
