Description
This book presents a holistic approach to the selection of artists and their identity-orientated (“organic”) development. This approach investigates musical, personal and business characteristics for the selection of artists and further evolves a five-dimensional framework for the artist development. Its core is the development of a long-term, sustainable and successful artist career.
For the development of the framework, interviews have been conducted with well-selected, established artists and managers as well as with passionate fans. Furthermore, in-depth knowledge was acquired from numerous academic researches, specialist literature and more relevant industry resources.
This book is addressed to artists, music managers and all persons who are involved in the music industries. It is based on the dissertation of Dr. Johannes Ripken, who has worked in the music industry and as a lecturer for several years.

Reviews
