OSCE-Yearbook 1995/1996

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe is one of the most important pillars of European security. To contribute to making the general public aware of the multitude of tasks the OSCE is faced with and its activities to meet them is the intention of the editors of the OSCE Yearbook. The positive reception of the German version published since 1995 encouraged them to offer an English version.
More than 35 authors, scholars as well as high-ranking politicians and diplomats, give detailed first-hand information and analysis on the OSCE process, the OSCE"s responsibilities, its instruments and activities covering nearly the whole range of subjects the OSCE is dealing with: conflict prevention and settlement, human dimension and the development of democracy, arms control and other aspects of cooperative security, economic transformation as well as organizational aspects.
The anthology is a translated edition of the German-language OSCE Yearbook 1996, supplemented by some articles from the 1995 Yearbook. It is addressed to students as well as to scholars, to journalists and politicians, to everyone interested in European security issues.
