Band II: Interpretation
Edited by
Prof. Dr. Burkhard Liebsch
Karl-Alber-Verlag, 1. Edition 2026, ca. 800 Pages
Description
This volume focuses on Ricœur’s second creative period, centred on the concept of interpretation, in which he articulates a life conveyed through poetry, symbolism and myth that cannot coincide with itself. The consequences of this become apparent in a hermeneutic engagement with psychoanalytic interpretative work, but also with structuralist, semiotic and radically phenomenological approaches. They all inevitably find themselves caught up in irreconcilable conflicts of interpretation, not least when drawing on hermeneutically religious resources within the context of a secular culture that must prove itself amidst blurred boundaries between religion and philosophy, love and justice, thought and faith.
