Personen und Subjekte des Politischen

The contributions in this volume offer the first systematic overview of the discussion on two fundamental concepts in political theory and in the history of ideas: “persons” and “subjects”. The growing evidence of an increasing personalization of democratic politics, the ongoing debates on fundamentally changing conditions of political subjectification as well as the changing status of individuals as political actors, but also the increasing significance of non-human “actors” make the theoretical discussion of these two concepts highly relevant. Their importance for understanding pressing current problems as well as their explanatory power as key theoretical concepts is reflected in this volume from different disciplinary perspectives, among them political science, philosophy, sociology, and legal studies.
