Philosophie und Spiritualität

The widespread discomfort with modernity has awakened a renewed interest in ‘spirituality’, i.e. in the intellectual and emotional deepening of existence. Mainstream modern philosophy, as an exponent of a disenchanted world view, has remained quite untouched by this development. Based on many testimonies from literature, art, (rightly understood) religion, science and everyday experience, supported by epistemological and natural philosophical insights, this book calls for the rehabilitation of the spiritual dimension of philosophy. A symbolic interpretation of reality plays a prominent role in this respect. All in all, this leads to the idea of a spiritually fermented philosophy and a form of spirituality that is reflected on philosophically.
