In this volume, Martin Söller structures and systematises the sometimes confusing wealth of information on platform work. In particular, he sheds light on the multilateral and multi-layered contractual relationships inherent in this new form of work and the status of platform workers under labour law. In doing so, he addresses the definition of employee and arrives at the central question of when the discontinuity of work performance associated with platform work reaches such a high level that the service provider's status as an employee is lost. At the same time, he clarifies numerous connections that have so far remained hidden, so that the volume can also serve as a comprehensive handbook on platform work.
