Brumlik’s demand forms the basis of this volume because it is yet to be fulfilled, and political education still lacks a certain degree of theory. On the one hand, this is due to a reluctance in teaching methodology circles to make a concerted effort to address challenging theoretical issues. On the other, there are very few contributions from the field of political theory that see any necessity in contributing something to political education.
In order to fill this theoretical gap in political education and allow it to benefit from the potential inherent in political theory, this book contains contributions by authors from both fields. Their mutual goal is to ask political theorists and schools of political thought which aspects of political theory can be used to ensure successful political education.
