Politische Theorie

The textbook offers students of political science, social and cultural sciences, and philosophy both a systematic overview and a differentiated perspective on the field of political theory, including its history of ideas, based on key concepts. The question of what is political connects the presentations of the concepts. Readers are introduced to selected arguments within the respective fields of discourse, thereby becoming sensitized to the controversial nature of the concepts of freedom, equality, and democracy. The various positions are explained and contextualized on the basis of the most relevant approaches, including liberal, republican and radical democratic theories, classical critical theory, and recent critical theories such as feminist-intersectional or postcolonial perspectives.
